Copper 5 1/2″ Tom Thumb Snaffle
The Tom Thumb mouth is curved so there is less risk of the nutcracker effect. This bit can be severe, ride with gentle hands for the best results. Copper causes the horse’s mouth to salivate which keeps it soft and supple to the rider.
Copper is a soft metal – check for signs of wear before each use.
Stage B is all about transition, with the introduction of leverage and curb pressure. Short shanked bits and half-gags comprise Stage B.
